And yes, >70 USD for a T-shirt is too much. I have purchased a S´Oliver T-shirt last week for 15.99 EUR (tax incl.) and a Polo shirt for 25.99 EUR (prices with tax). Nothing special, but not "cheap" either. I don't like clothes that disintegrate after a few washes ...

Nice setup until you got to the inverter. Cheap, lightweight, high frequency, transformerless inverters like these have very short life expectancies and they offer gar poorer surge capacities than real inverters that use low frequency, transformer based inverter tech. You'd be lucky to get even a year's worth of use out of one of these high frequency inverters which is why they're know as poor man inverters.

We have been married 29 years now. We spent a total of $1500 for our wedding where my wife bought a secondhand dress, we rented the church for cheap, we did not let the obligation of feeding everyone take us, we had some finger foods that family prepared. And my wife decorated her own wedding with flowers and such. It was about the marriage ceremony and not all the fancy and cost. No regrets from either of us and I highly recommend keeping it simple and only about the ceremony. Prenups are fine I guess, but if kind of feels like you are already setting yourself up for failure or expectation of failure. I guess our culture has declined into disposable marriages, which is another long conversation. Cohabitation has its financial complications if you break up as well where you can still be legally required to split all assets. Funny how this all pivots on money... its is about the money as that seems to be the most volatile part of divorce and often even more than the custody of children! Crazy.

The ring was given to the women for centuries for a reason. Gold and a certain amount of gold. It was her insurance policy. Death of husband who was the support. The true meaning was lost over time. I used to want to get married. Society, back then. Now, not so much. The main concern is medical. You both can't make emergency decisions for each other. There may be a way around that now (see a lawyer) The kids. Hyphenate their last name so they have both. I know co-parents that did that. Name changes are expensive. Emma's last name -Your last name for the child. Easy and done. I'm 60 years old, single mom. Would like a partner. Looking for a nice guy to spend adult time with at this stage of life. I don't need to be married. I have designated family I trust to make emergency medical decisions for me.

The ride is beautiful.. always enjoy your sharing. Just my opinion. If people are with someone for their looks, then they are going to be very disappointed in the years to come. It's the person's disposition that counts. Good souls are easy to love. Selfish people might look pretty on the outside but that ugly inside reunions it. Commitment is in your relationship and the marriage paper doesn't change it. Marriage is just legal protection. Like for example.. If you are married and one of you passes away, you would still have their soc sec benefit's not to mention not having to go through so much legal process of your property. The marriage certificate is just to protect each other and your possible your children if you have any. So, no one can come and take it away from your partner in life.

I have noticed that couples who do cheap weddings tend to last longer than the ones who do expensive weddings lol

To really shrink down my feelings, I believe marriage is becoming less and less of a "need" as women can work/maintain their own finances these days and religion is playing less of a part in people's lifes as well. Weddings are just a cash grab in most cases, but if that's how someone wants to spend their money 🤷‍♀️. I do agree with Emma that once kids enter the picture everyone having the same last name is nice and marriage can make that and some financial matters "easier", but it's not the end all be all.

I believe in the institution, but also understand that it's not for everyone. We celebrated our 40th last month. Sometimes you have to play the government's game. If your SO is hospitalized they will many times only allow family members to visit. You were right, there are tax benefits. And it can also effect your social security benefits. And for the record, I like the Cybertruck. But not as much as my Ram diesel. 🤣
